TAG Heuer x Hodinkee Carrera Chronograph Seafarer

It's difficult to compare the Abercrombie & Fitch we know today to the one that operated from the mid-50s to the early 1970s. Then, it was, as they put it, "The Greatest Sporting Goods Store in the World," and they sold a suite of custom-made watches. But not just junk. The designs were meant to accompany some of the greatest adventurers of that generation, which meant they had to look good and last. That's why TAG Heuer was tasked with producing the Seafarer, Abercrombie & Fitch's flagship chronograph. Lost to the archive as recently as last year, it's back now, thanks to Hodinkee, who resurfaced the design with the help of TAG Heuer for 2024. The new reference is based on the polished 42mm Carrera "Glassbox" case, with a black opaline dial, sky and royal blue accents on the Regatta and Tide subdials, a Seafarer logo on the sub-register at six o'clock, a fluted crown at 3 o'clock, and retro-styled polished chronograph pushers on both sides. Boasting tide indicator, chronograph, hours, minutes, and seconds functions, it comes with an exhibition caseback and on a black textured rubber strap with a domed sapphire crystal.
