The First Rolex Worn on the Moon

The OMEGA Speedmaster is rightfully known as the Moonwatch. But several lunar surface-bound astronauts preferred their Rolex timepieces, including Commander Edgar Mitchell. Mitchell wore this Ref. #1675 Rolex GMT-Master during the Apollo 14 mission, making it the first Rolex ever worn on the surface of the Moon. Untested but in exemplary cosmetic condition for a watch of its age, it has a classic Pepsi 24-hour bezel, a cyclops date at 3 o'clock, a metal bracelet, and a caseback carrying a "Worn by Cdr. E. Mitchell on Apollo 14, 1971, To Karlin—My Daughter." engraving. The watch can be spotted in archival footage and is accompanied by a COA signed by Mitchell himself.
