That's not the case with The Urban Society's Offroad 45, though, a modular backpack made from vegan eco-tech material that's both rain-resistant and easy to clean when it accumulates dust, dirt, or other debris from daily use. For bigger items, there's a large top compartment with a water-resistant zip closure, which includes a removable pouch and padded sleeve for laptops up to 15.6 inches. For your EDC and other accessories, there's a zippered exterior front pocket and two side pockets, all with rainproof flaps. And though its design emphasizes function first, there is a padded backrest for all-day comfort, should you be mostly on the move. No worries if you are, thanks to a convertible top handle, which lets you carry the bag closely by your side when you board the train, squeeze onto a packed elevator or reach for an item in one of the aforementioned pockets.
