The1RoomHotel
Once a shoe store then a canvas outlet for the University of Michigan, Ford, General Motors, and more, this ultra-luxury Detroit hotel is atypical in many ways. For one, it only has one room, which means whoever books it can freely roam the entire property: a lavish bedroom with a spacious shower and a walk-in wardrobe, a separate guest bedroom, two large lounge spaces, a wellness studio with a sauna and cold plunge tub, a state-of-the-art chef's kitchen, a 1,000 square foot rooftop terrace, and a private, two-car garage, which houses the hotel's complimentary house car, a taxi-yellow 1972 Ford Bronco. Guests are also offered a 24-hour concierge for reservations across the city, should they want to venture out. The space is hard to leave, however, with its original detailing, high-end furnishings, and unmatched privacy.
