Timex Ironman 8-Lap Limited Edition For Hodinkee
When the Timex Ironman debuted in 1986, it was built for people who swam 2.4 miles, biked 112, and then ran a marathon. It sold 400,000 units in its first year. Forty years later, Hodinkee has collaborated with Timex on a limited run of 2,000 pieces that revisits that original formula with a stripped-down, design-forward twist. The 38.7mm frosted resin case is the centerpiece: when the blue Indiglo backlight fires, it illuminates the entire case and exposes the digital quartz movement within. Bezel clutter has been cleared out, with the original function labels replaced by a Hodinkee signature and clean black dot markers. At 10.5mm thick and 31.26 grams, it rides on a light grey strap with a stainless steel buckle, the caseback etched with both brand logos. Eight-lap memory, chronograph, countdown timer, alarm, and 100 meters of water resistance round it out. Forty years on, it still does exactly what it was made to do.
