Van Daryl War Truck
The US Army deployed hundreds, if not thousands, of Jeeps to Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Many of these ended up scattered across the streets of Saigon, waiting for someone to repurpose them. Enter Daryl Villanueva, a multi-discipline designer perhaps best known for his Bandit9 motorcycles. Under his new Van Daryl brand, he's reimagined, rehabilitated, revived, and refined these battle-tested vehicles as The War Truck. Updated with modern proportions, advanced instruments, and enhanced handling and performance, they come equipped with either the original, stalwart 4-cylinder, 2.3L engine or an upgraded powerplant — electric options are available — as well as hand-stitched calf leather interiors, hand-treated maple wood panels, and machine-cut aluminum exteriors. Each one is made-to-order to the owner's specifications, blending military roots with modern elegance.
