Much like the mythical characters it portrays, once the zombie movie rose, it couldn't be killed. In 1932, the premiere of White Zombie launched the zombie movie genre, but was 1968's Night of the Living Dead that turned "zombie" into a household name. Since the 2000s, zombies have become staples of the big and small screens, with the living dead overrunning the horror film genre.
Jordan Peele is taking on the horror genre with his new film Get Out. The comedian wrote and directed his version of Meet the Parents and his is a bit more sinister. The plot follows Daniel Kaluuya as Allison Williams as they go to upstate to visit her family where his anxiety about them accepting their interracial relationship fades when he realizes he has a bigger problem on his hand. The film is slated for release February 24, 2017.
