First Phonographic Record Played In Space
Jack White's label Third Man Records is entering its seventh year. To celebrate, their playing the first record in space. Engineered by Kevin Carrico, the White Stripes Frontman launched a custom space-ready turntable called the Icarus Craft on a high-altitude balloon over Marsing, Idaho. Once it reached an altitude of 94,413 feet, the turntable played Third Man's three millionth record pressed.
