Nearly 30 years after the hooked urban legend slashed through cinemas, Jordan Peele is rebooting Candyman. Dubbed a spiritual sequel the original, the film goes back to the same Chicago neighborhood. Gentrification has changed the entire area but one thing still remains — a honey-covered boogeyman is still haunting those who say his name five times. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and the original Candyman himself Tony Todd, the film will go to theaters in September.

Directed by Takashi Murakami, the series is centered around the Yeezy-voiced Kanye Bear and Kid Cudi's Kid Fox. Its title, Kids See Ghosts, is from hip hop super-duo's 2018 debut album where Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami designed the cover art. No word on the official release date.
