Making Gourmet Hot Pockets
This might be Claire's most successful attempt at making gourmet versions of mass-produced food — gourmet Hot Pockets. Both popular and something of an internet sensation, Hot Pockets were introduced in 1983 as a quasi-pizza turnover with a unique sleeve that made for a crispy pastry crust in the microwave. Claire's take on the freezer food was as popular as the original, judging from the staff's reaction.
