Sam Mendes has captured 007 in Skyfall and Spectre. Now, the director is following up his James Bond efforts with a World War I epic. The film will follow two soldiers as they cross enemy territory on what looks like a suicide mission to save their fellow troops. Starring George MacKay and Game of Thrones alum Dean-Charles Chapman, along with Richard Madden, Colin Firth, and Benedict Cumberbatch, 1917 will go to theaters December 25, 2019.
