Saul Bass. You probably don't know the name, but you've definitely seen his work. Saul was a graphic designer before beginning work on films in the 50s. His most recognizable contributions are the title sequences in films such as The Man with the Golden Arm, The Seven Year Itch, and Ocean's Eleven. Later, Saul worked as a visual consultant to notables such as Martin Scorsese. The Royal Ocean Film Society looks at Saul's work and how it applies to many other areas of filmmaking.
During his youth, Adolfo Kaminsky helped thousands of innocent lives during the Nazi regime by forging passports. Hiding their operations disguised as painters, he even managed to create 900 documents in one night to save 300 children. In this documentary, Kaminsky describes how his humble beginnings as a clothes dryer lead him to become one of the world's most important forgers.
