Withings U-Scan Urine Scanner
Urine contains more than 3,000 metabolites that can inform us about our nutrition, hydration, hormonal balance, and metabolism. The U-Scan from Withings is a sensitive thermal sensor that fits inside the toilet and collects urine samples automatically, analyzing them on-site using miniaturized biochemical sensors, with results delivered within minutes to the Withings app. The Nutrio version focuses on Bio-Acidity, HydroStatus, Ketones, and Vitamin C to asses metabolic strain, fluid intake, fat metabolism, and dietary adequacy. A second model, the Calci, provides continuous and proactive monitoring of potential kidney stones. Each cartridge lasts up to three months, depending on testing frequency, can be swapped out easily, and in between uses, the docking station charges and cleans the U-Scan within three hours.
