We knew it was only a matter of time before BMW got into the electric car game, but we never thought the design of their first models would take the idea so literally. The BMW i Series ($TBA) includes two models that wouldn't be out of place in a sci-fi flick — the all-electric, rear-wheel drive i3 hatchback, which offers 170 hp, seating for four, a top speed of 93 mph, and a 0-60 time of under eight seconds, and the hybrid i8 coupe, which pairs an electric motor running the front wheels and a turbocharged three-cylinder powering the rears for all-wheel drive possibilities, limited range all-electric driving, a 0-60 time of under five seconds, and a perfect 50/50 weight distribution ratio. No word on whether the production models will be as... funky as the concepts.
Odds are you'll never see this bad boy at your local dealership, but it would be way cooler if you did. The Chevrolet Colorado Rally Concept ($TBA) comes ready to tackle the toughest terrain, thanks to a double cabin, four-wheel drive, 18-inch rims with 305/60 R18 tires, a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine, the ability to adjust the suspension while on the move, integrated winches in the front and back, vented acrylic side windows, GPS navigation, a Hydration Pack to quench your thirst when the nearest stop is miles away, rally racing seats with five-point seatbelts, an integrated roll bar, and aggressive styling that begs to be driven on real-life roads.
