Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello

Innovations in wine don't come often, if at all. In 1970, Antinori, makers of fine wines since 1385, produced the first bottle of Tignanello, combing Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes aged in a type of barrel called a barrique. Tignanello has went on to become one of the most sought-after wines in the world — and the inspiration behind a one-of-one Maserati GranCabrio Folgore. The GranCabrio Tignanello was created by Maserati's Fuoriserie program for Marchesi Antinori, who will auction the car off for charity. The GranCabrio wears Terra di Tignanello paint, inspired by the soil of the Antinori vineyards with reddish hues taken from the Tignanello barrels. The interior is trimmed in leather and Vegea fabric used at the vineyard, with stripes that reference grape vines. Dark briar wood trim features laser-cut details and the headrests are embroidered with a special graphic that combines the Maserati trident with the sun emblem found on the bottle of Tignanello. The car goes to auction at the Napa Valley's Arts for All gala on July 14th.
