2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
"Rally car driver" is only behind "Natalie Portman leg shaver" on our list of dream professions. But with our old-man reflexes beginning to sit in, the closest we'll ever get to the rally life will probably be owning a Subaru Impreza WRX STI (starting at $35,000) and tearing up the gravel back roads. Luckily, the latest update makes the STI the meanest hatch we've ever seen. It packs in a 305-hp DOHC intercooled, turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine, 18 x 8.5-inch 18-spoke BBS aluminum-alloy wheels, a Brembo brake system, and STI-design front bumper with integrated spoiler. Looks-wise, the new 5-door is a vast departure from past WRX models, looking more like a mutant Peugeot than a Subaru.
