MINI Crossover Concept

MINI Crossover Concept

Four doors, four seats, and four wheel drive. Measuring six inches wider and taller than the Clubman, the new MINI Crossover Concept ($TBD) is the largest MINI to date, also offering a higher ride height and more interior space — all without losing the MINI's iconic styling. Since it's only in concept stage right now, there are no official engine details, but rest assured this will be one of the most fuel-friendly "SUV" you'll find. [via]

  • Land Rover LRX Concept

Set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month, the Land Rover LRX Concept is a mix of one part hybrid-coupe and one part Battlestar-SUV. The compact, 3-door LRX sports an ultra modern design — a reimagining of Land Rover's traditional clamshell bonnet, floating roof and wheel-at-each-corner stance — along with futuristic sustainability-focused technologies that make it easier on the environment. The LRX offers iPhone integration, full-time four-wheel drive and Hill Descent Control, as well as a special version of Land Rover's Terrain Response system, which gains a new "Eco" mode for lower emissions during city driving. • Hummer H2 Safari

It's only a concept right now, but we could see GM actually releasing this open-air edition Hummer. Sporting a huge folding canvas roof panel and rugged matte olive paint, the Hummer H2 Safari ($TBD) is ready for any overland journey. It's powered by a 393-horsepower 6.2L V-8, and features 20-inch wheels with Mickey Thompson 35-inch off-road tires, heavy-duty suspension with two-inch lift kit, a dockable GPS unit, removable rear quarter windows, and outdoor luggage and gun racks.
