Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo

Typically in the world of automotive racing video games, virtual reality follows actual reality — bringing real-life cars as accurately as possible into your console — but not with the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo. This incredible concept car originated on the screen, allowing Nissan designers free reign in creating the car of their dreams. But this is no ordinary fantasy vehicle. Its design and functionality is the product of efforts from Nissan's own advanced engineering team, and serving as a digital exploration into the future of sportscars. Look for it as a download in Gran Turismo 6 this month, and on the streets some day in the not-so-distant future (we hope).

  • MINI Paceman Adventure Concept

Most of us can agree that the Mini in its current iteration is a far cry from the Mini it draws its name (and increasingly less obvious design inspiration) from — but it goes on, building cars whose resemblance to the original doesn't go much beyond the badge. The latest in this trend is the MINI Paceman Adventure Concept, based on the Paceman — which is itself a two-door cousin of the Countryman — this Mini gets its rear cropped to form a sort of cute little truck. And though details are limited, the car does sport the same all-wheel-drive found in the Paceman, and likely a 1.6-liter I-4 engine. So while that does give it some truck street cred, we're not convinced you'd ever want to take it to the job site.

  • BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept

Concept cars generally fall into one of two categories: previews of upcoming production models, and blue-sky exercises in pushing things forward. The BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept is definitely an example of the latter. It features an insane interior made from layers of fine carbon fabric, controls, aluminum, wood, and leather, a B-pillar that's integrated in the front seat frames, a 3D information display, a next-gen head up display, two rear seat displays and a detachable tablet, and a sleek exterior featuring advanced aerodynamics, a coupe-style roofline, Laserlight headlamps, and OLED rear lighting. In other words, lots of stuff that you might see in future models — several years down the road.
