The United States of America
A lot has changed over the last 100 years, yet the unique beauty and diverse landscape of the country we call home have remained much the same. The United States of America takes a look back at the past century through the lens of National Geographic's photographers. From black and white shots of the 1920s and '30s to the digital images of today, it provides a glimpse at the cultural, technological, and societal development and upheaval that defined the period in each state. The images are accompanied by an introductory essay from photography editor David Walker, prefaces for each state section, and captions that help to fill in the rest of the story.
