Volkswagen Concept BlueSport

Volkswagen Concept BlueSport

While it might be just a concept for now, we're already itching to add the Volkswagen Concept BlueSport ($TBA) to our stable. Powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that pumps out 180hp, good for a 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 140, while managing 35 mpg in normal mode and more than 62 mpg in Eco mode. With a mid-engine layout that provides great weight distribution and a convertible body just 13 feet in length, it's a sporty, eco-friendly blast.

  • Hummer HX Concept

According to insiders, you're looking at the basis for the upcoming H4 — but whether they call it HX, H4, or H-ellion, it's pretty hard-ass. The Hummer HX Concept ($TBA) is all-Hummer, with full-time 4WD, 35-inch tires, an advanced front suspension with an electronic-disconnecting stabilizer bar, and an E85 FlexFuel 3.6L SIDI V-6. However, it also borrows some ideas long assocoiated with rival Jeep, including a removable roof panels, doors, and fender flares, and a modular rear roof assembly that can also be completely removed, turning the HX into a true convertible. Add to that its rugged, Halo-esque exterior styling, and you've got a great two-door off-roader that we can't wait to get our hands on. [More Photos]

  • Land Rover LRX Concept

Set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month, the Land Rover LRX Concept is a mix of one part hybrid-coupe and one part Battlestar-SUV. The compact, 3-door LRX sports an ultra modern design — a reimagining of Land Rover's traditional clamshell bonnet, floating roof and wheel-at-each-corner stance — along with futuristic sustainability-focused technologies that make it easier on the environment. The LRX offers iPhone integration, full-time four-wheel drive and Hill Descent Control, as well as a special version of Land Rover's Terrain Response system, which gains a new "Eco" mode for lower emissions during city driving.
