Volkswagen CrossBlue Concept
SUVs and MPGs don't exactly go hand-in-hand, but it doesn't have to be that way. Take the Volkswagen CrossBlue Concept ($TBA) for example. Designed for the US and Canadian markets, this six-seat SUV features a 2.0L turbo diesel engine and two electric motors for a combined output of 305 hp and all-wheel drive capability. Thanks to this hybrid setup, the concept is said to make the sprint from 0-60 in about 7.2 seconds and offer fuel economy as high as 89 MPG. As with any concept, you might not want to hold your breath on an actual release.
