1957 Jaguar XKSS
Jaguar dominated Le Mans in the '50s, taking five wins between 1951 and 1958, including three straight in 1955, '56, and '57. The D-Type took those last three wins, cementing the car as a classic, in terms of both performance and style. 16 D-Types were converted to XKSS road cars by Jaguar between 1957 and 1958, and the car pictured here is just one of two that retains its XKD chassis number. The other resides in the collection of fashion mogul Ralph Lauren. Chassis no. XKD 533 is said to be one of the finest XKSS examples in existence, with a thoroughly documented history and only light restoration in recent years. The car goes to auction in London, where it's estimated to fetch over $14 million.
