1959 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Custom Station Wagon
In 1959, one of the most luxurious and expensive cars on the market was the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. Each of the 99 Eldorado Broughams made in 1959 were built from a specially-selected chassis that was shipped to Italy, where they were covered in hand-built four-door Pininfarina bodywork and shipped back to the States for testing and delivery to dealers. At $14,000, the car cost more than a Rolls-Royce. Fast forward nearly 50 years, and one of these rare Cadillacs becomes the basis for a wild 15-year, $2.3 million build that combines an Eldorado Brougham with a 1956 Nomad station wagon. The spare-no-expense build features a Tom Nelson Racing Engines 632 cubic-inch twin-turbo Warrior V8 making 1,025 horsepower, with the chopped and sectioned body riding on a custom space frame tubular chassis. The car is painted in a two-tone Fawntana Rose and Titanium Silver colorway, with Fawntana Rose painted interior, Recaro bucket seats from a Cadillac CTS-V, and striped tiger wood, figured maple and African wenge wood trim. This incredible custom goes to auction at Mecum's Indy event in May 2023.
