1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Lightweight

The value of a car isn't just in rarity. Provenance can be equally important, and this 1960 DB4 GT has both — rarity and provenance — in spades. One of 75 made, and one of just six left-hand-drive Lightweight-spec DB4 GTs to leave the factory, this DB4 GT was ordered by Tommy Sopwith, son of Sir Thomas Sopwith, whose company designed the legendary Sopwith Camel fighter plane of WWI. The car made its racing debut on Easter Monday 1960 with none other than racing legend Sir Stirling Moss behind the wheel, notching a win to Tommy Sopwith's Equipe Endeavour racing team. The car racked up several more victories in 1960 before being sold to another part of British racing history, Ron Fry. The car was bought by Pink Floyd manager and Le Mans racer Steve O'Rourke, who raced it in historic events up through the late '90s until the current owner purchased it in 2005. With its history of famous owners and drivers, this DB4 GT is a part of British history.
