1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider
The Ferrari 250 GT California Spider is among the most iconic designs in Maranello's rich history. This example, just the third of 56 short-wheelbase models ever made, is also one of only 39 originally configured with covered headlamps. It was delivered new to Paris and has seen only four owners in its lifetime, with the most recent caring for it for 30 years. In 2008, it received Ferrari Classiche "Red Book" classification, stipulating the presence of the matching-numbers engine, rear axle, and Scaglietti coachwork. In exceptional condition, the car arrives with a purpose-built 3.8L alternative engine completed by expert Piet Roelofs in 2019 and original Borrani wire wheels. It will cross the auction block as part of RM Sotheby's Paris auction on January 28th.
