1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta by Scaglietti
Some cars are built to race. Some are built for touring. The Ferrari 250 GT SWB was both, claiming over 250 overall or class victories in the '60s while being a pleasure to drive on the road. Completed by the factory in August of 1962, chassis number 3735 GT was the 152nd of just 165 250 GT SWB Berlinettas built. It was originally delivered to the US, finished in the same Rosso Cina Chiaro over a Nero interior it wears today. While it returned to Europe in the late '90s, it was well looked after, certified by Ferrari Classiche in 2015 with its original chassis, engine, gearbox, and rear axle. It recently underwent minor restoration work by the Ferrari specialists at GTO Engineering in Reading, UK, and will be sold via Sotheby's Sealed on June 26-28.
