1964 Iso Grifo A3/L Spider Prototype
For over four decades, this one-of-one Iso Grifo A3/L Spider prototype languished in the collection of LA scrapper Rudi Klein. The sister car to the original A3/L coupe, this car was featured at cars shows on the European circuit, including the 1964 Geneva Motor Show where it made its debut. Penned by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car would cross the Atlantic in 1967 to New York City. In 1973 the car was acquired by TV producer and well-known car collector Greg Garrison. After a back-and-forth between Garrison and Klein, Klein purchased the car in 1980. From there the A3/L Spider suffered the fate of all Klein's cars — left to sit and rot for four decades. The car sold at an event in Los Angeles for $1,875,000, ready for restoration to its former glory.
