1966 AC Cobra 4.7L Competition Hardtop Coupe
When it comes to vintage road cars, "highly original" typically means having the same chassis, body, and engine. It's a little different when it comes to race cars, as evidenced by this 1966 AC Cobra 4.7L Competition Hardtop Coupe. Considered one of the most original of all surviving AC/Shelby American Cobras, it carries the chassis number CS 2131, which placed 7th in the 1963 24 Hours of Le Mans. Over the years, it has seen engine changes and over 100 completed races in Great Britain, and is now presented in the classic British Bell & Colvill livery, with a 4.7 440-horsepower V8 mated to a period-correct FIA-legal T10 gearbox. It will cross the block as part of Bonhams' Goodwood Revival on September 13th.
