1966 Ford GT40 Mk II

The latest Indianapolis Motor Speedway icon to hit the auction block is this 1966 Ford GT40 Mk II. The car notched a second-place finish at the 1966 12 Hours of Sebring and had to retire from the 1966 Le Mans, racing under the Holman-Moody banner. After Le Mans, the car went to New York City and then immediately to Europe where it was displayed as it left Le Mans. The car was eventually donated to Tony Hulman Jr., owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where it has been shown in its collection. The car goes to auction at RM Sotheby's February 2025 in Miami.
