1967 Chevrolet L88 Corvette Coupe
From 1967 to 1969, the ultimate Corvette available to the public was the L88 engine option package. The 427 cubic inch V8 was the closest you could get to a pure racing engine from GM, and individuals were outright discouraged from buying them, with the goal being that they were sold to racing teams and went directly to the track. In 1967, only 20 L88 Corvettes were sold, and maybe half of them have survived — and this Sunfire Yellow example is the only one with its original engine. Meticulously restored down the last nut and bolt, the fire-breathing L88 427 makes an estimated 560 horsepower and comes with an exhaustive amount of documentation — the original sales contract, Nevada title, and even a video interview with the original owner are among the paperwork. If there's one Corvette that could be considered the Holy Grail of the marque, this just might be the one.
