1968 Lamborghini Espada Rat Rod
What would happen if a distinctly American art form slammed headfirst into a classic Italian grand tourer as interpreted by a French custom shop? It's not exactly a question anyone asked, but thankfully Danton Art Kustoms answered, in the form of this 1968 Lamborghini Espada rat rod. The styling of the Espada was controversial from its introduction, making it the perfect platform for Danton's unique vision. The 3.9 V12 is exposed in traditional American hot rod tradition, drawing attention to the masterpiece stainless steel tubular headers and exhaust. Modern-style custom wheels were commissioned from Govad Forged Wheels in Canada, and the suspension modifications push the width out to over eight feet, giving it a classic long, low, and very wide look. Flat black paint, exposed rivets in the interior, and a nod to modern Lamborghini styling with angular side scoops complete the blend of classic and modern. As polarizing as this Espada is, it's a perfect tribute to the original.
