1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe
Dubbed "Britain's first supercar", the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was the top-performing car you could buy. With a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 170 MPH, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche offered nothing that could beat it and the V8 Vantage retrieved the sports car crown for England. The V8 Vantage here is going up for auction with no reserve and is an extremely early production model. The first 16 cars had their "fliptail" rear spoiler bolted onto the trunk lid after completion — after those 16, the next 23 had an integrated spoiler fitted on the production line. This makes the bolt-on fliptail cars the rarest of the V8 Vantages, and this one, in particular, is a numbers-matching example with a factory five-speed gearbox. Originally a right-hand-drive model, a three-year restoration in Canada converted it to left-hand-drive, along with a new interior and repaint from red to silver.
