1979 Lancia Stratos Gr. 4

The Lancia Stratos dominated rally racing in the 1970s, taking the World Rally Championship in 1974, 1975, and 1976. The brutally short, nearly square wheelbase chassis was powered by Ferrari's Dino V6 and draped in wedge-shaped bodywork by Bertone's master Marcello Gandini. Designed as a rally car from the outset, the Stratos has become a legend, on and off the road. This 1979 Stratos Gr. 4 was driven by Antonio 'Tony' Fassina in the 1979 Italian Rally Championship, with Fassina taking five victories in nine races — with the other four being DNFs. With extensive research documenting its history, this incredible piece of rallying history is now being offered for sale by Schaltkulisse.
