1987 Porsche 911 Safari
One of three rally-ready cars built by Jeff Zwart, Joey Seely, Rod Emory, and Patrick Long, LuftAuto 002 is a heavily modified 1987 Porsche 911. It's powered by a 3.2L flat-six from Rothsport, fitted with revised camshafts, higher compression pistons, individual throttle bodies, and a MoTeC engine control, mated to a G50 transmission modified by Bill Rader Motorsports. An adjustable suspension is ready to tackle off-road terrain with custom tubular control arms, competition 3-Way coil-over dampers, additional bracing, and a back half roll cage. Inside, Recaro bucket seats and a suede OMP rally steering wheel provide a performance-focused environment, while outside there's a bold Signal Yellow livery, with skid plates and brush guards on both bumpers, a roof rack, and 15" Braid competition wheels. LuftAuto 002 will be available at RM Sotheby's Arizona auction on Friday, January 23rd.
