1990 RUF BTR lll 'Flat-Nose' Cabriolet
The RUF BTR was one of the fastest road cars on the market from its release in 1984 to 1993. Most BTRs were conversions of stock Porsche 930-generation 911s, with a small handful being constructed from "bodies in white" — factory 911s disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up by RUF. This "flat nose" BTR III is one of those cars, sold new in Canada in a triple black color scheme requested by its first owner. The car is powered by a 408 horsepower 3.4-liter flat-six with a single K27 turbocharged and Bosche Motronic engine control. An RUF-developed six-speed manual transmits that power to the rear wheels. Air conditioning, Recaro seats, a Sony stereo, and 17-inch Speedline wheels were specified on the options sheet. This BTR III will go to auction in Toronto on June 1st via RM Sotheby's.
