1994 RUF RCT Coupe
The RUF RCT was the solution to a unique problem only RUF could have — a plethora of spare parts. The spares were from the 964 Carrera 2, Carrera 4, and Carrera RS cars RUF dismantled to build the BTR III and the BTR 3.8. Alois Ruf Jr. decided to put the parts to use by adapting them to RUF's existing turbo system, resulting in a car with nearly equal performance at half the cost. The RCT pictured here is the only one built from a 964 RS and used by RUF as a development car and press vehicle. POwer comes from a turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six making 370 horsepower through a six-speed gearbox. The chassis is seam welded, with thinner glass, an aluminum hood, and rolled fenders to fit RUF 18-inch wheels. The Recaro Pole Position seats have tartan inserts installed by the previous owner, along with green-numbered VDO gauges. This RCT was owned by its first private owner in Germany from 1994 to 2017 before coming to the United States. The car is currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer.
