1998 Lamborghini Pregunta Concept
The mid to late '90s were a turbulent time for Lamborghini, as they passed from Chrysler's ownership to a pair of investment groups before landing at Volkswagen. This serves as the backdrop for the 1998 Lamborghini Pregunta concept. Based on the Diablo, its bodywork and interior were created by French coachbuilder Carrosserie Heuliez-Torino. The carbon fiber body was inspired by the Dassault Rafale fighter jet, and was painted matte dark grey, just like the aircraft. The influence extended to the cockpit, which was split into driver and passenger areas with aviation-style seats, a host of advanced technology, and four-point harnesses. Powered by a 5.7-liter V12 producing 530 hp, it offered performance worthy of its heritage, and comes to market after nearly 20 years of single private ownership.
