2001: A Space Odyssey Space Suit

"The only thing we're sure of is it was buried four million years ago." So spoke Dr. Bill Michaels after the discovery of an alien monolith on the moon in the moon base and shuttle scenes in Stanley Kubrick's landmark 2001: A Space Odyssey. The space suit pictured here was worn by actor Sean Sullivan on set as Dr. Michaels, with "Sean Sullivan" handwritten on a tag sewn inside the suit. The piece is completely original outside of the repainted helmet and "memory cards" in the backpack, the latter of which were reconstructed by Greg Jein. This piece of movie history is up for auction via Heritage Auctions.
