2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Edition Coupe
Jointly developed between Mercedes and McLaren, the SLR celebrated the two companies' history and success in F1 racing. One of McLaren Automotive's first projects after its founding was to transform a select few — just 25 examples — in the SLR McLaren Edition. The McLaren Edition reduced weight and increased downforce by 15% over the 722 Edition SLR. A new carbon-kevlar front floor, reworked wheel arch vents, a new rear diffuser, and a ceramic-coated exhaust system were some of the added improvements. New springs and dampers were fitted with the front air takes restyled to look like the McLaren logo. The example here was refitted by McLaren in 2011 along with applying the custom Fire Black paint. This one-owner car goes to auction in London on November 1st.
