2011 Ferrari SP30 Berlinetta
The bad part about buying a custom car is getting someone else's idea of custom. The good part is that it's often at a substantial discount — especially when it's a coachbuilt Ferrari. This 2011 Ferrari SP30 Berlinetta is a one-off rebody of the 599 GTO, itself an enhanced 661-horsepower version of the 599 GTBFiorano. Shifting is accomplished via a six-speed F1-style paddle shift transmission driving the rear wheels. In 2010, the 599 GTO took the Fiorano lap record — Ferrari's test track — from the Enzo, an impressive accomplishment. The SP30 is a radical departure from the 599 GTO, with styling more akin to the then-current 458 Italia, even borrowing the 458's headlights. The interior is trimmed in grey Alcantara with red carbon fiber trim and accents. Commissioned by an Indian industrialist in the UAE, the car was seized and relocated to the US after a financial default. The car goes to auction as the first Special Projects Ferrari offered for public sale May 4th.
