2022 FIFA World Cup Floating Hotels

Construction on the 80,000-seat Lusail Iconic Stadium is already under way for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Now, Qatar needs a way to accommodate the masses of fans that are expected to invade the Arab country. As a solution, Finnish company Admares has devised a series of floating hotels that aren't just useful, but also sustainable. The 16 structures will sit on the surface of the Persian Gulf off the coast of Qetaifan Island North, just 15 minutes from the stadium. Measuring in at 236-feet-long and 52-feet-wide, each four-story building will house 101 guest rooms along with a restaurant and lounge bar. Once the trophy is awarded, the buoyant hotels can be moved to another coastal location and reused for future events.
