2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R Race Car
The real 911 track car — as in the one that puts more trophies in Porsche's overflowing trophy case — is here for the 2023 season. Porsche will formally introduce the 911 GT3 R at the 2022 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, with the car's racing debut beginning at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Privateer teams will be able to campaign the GT3 R in GT3 events worldwide, and they'll have a formidable package. Based on the 992, the GT3 R is powered by a 4.2-liter flat-six making up to 565 horsepower, depending on Balance of Power regulations by series. Special attention has been paid to aerodynamics, with the engine tilted forward by 5.5 degrees to make the rear diffuser more effective. A sequential six-speed gearbox puts power to the rear wheels, with AP Racing brakes and KW dampers with a front wishbone, rear multi-link setup making sure the power is as usable as possible. Racing teams can begin the purchase process for the 911 GT3 R now.
