2025 BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition SUV

Jeep launched the Cherokee in 1983, forever changing the landscape of the American automobile. Ford followed with the Explorer in 1990, and cemented the SUV's future place as the dominant vehicle type in the US. The Explorer was such a success that even the Germans had to get in on the segment — Mercedes with the ML in 1997, and even Porsche launching the Cayenne in 2002. BMW set out for its slice of the SUV pie in 1999 with the X5, the first example rolling out of its North Carolina plant that year. 25 years and nearly three million X5's later, BMW is marking the SUV's silver anniversary with a special edition. X5 Silver Anniversary Edition comes standard with a Lime Rock Grey metallic paint and Extended Shadowline Trim adding dark accent pieces and aluminum trim thanks to the Sport Design Package. The interior comes in Black, Cognac, Coffee, or Silverstone Sensafin upholstery with sport seats and carbon fiber trim. The xOffroad Package is standard, with four-wheel air suspension, mechanically-locking rear differential, and skid plates. The X5 Silver Anniversary Edition arrives in August.
