Aberdoni Prelude Yacht Concept

Jay Aberdoni left Alberto Mancini Yacht Design to start his own studio, and the first concept shows an unrestrained vision for the explorer yacht category. Dubbed the Prelude, the yacht takes inspiration from the upright, square lines of research vessels redefined with a clean, minimalist look. Aberdoni has replaced the large spaces for tenders and toy vessels with large, open areas for dining and entertaining. The aft beach club is a huge, open space two decks tall, with an open feel that Aberdoni says feels more like a New York apartment than a yacht. The area includes an open fire pit, garden, bar, and the best views of the ocean on the ship. At the bow is a glass-bottom pool that provides the roof of the dining area below it. The Prelude concept measures 262 feet in length, with propulsion a choice for the buyer.
