Alessi x C.P. Company Collaboration

Richard Sapper's 9090 espresso maker won the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 and has been on every serious design shortlist since. For their first collaboration, Alessi and C.P. Company apply that same restless thinking to both steel and fabric. The 9090 and a set of Jean Nouvel double-wall mocha cups are coated in a black PVD finish, applied over manual sandblasting at Alessi's historic plant in Omegna, Piedmont, with brass-colored details and a surface that develops a patina with use. Alongside it, C.P. Company's Nylon B overshirt arrives in three garment-dyed colorways, Total Eclipse, Malachite Green, and Deep Lavender, each drawn from the factory uniforms Ettore Sottsass designed for Alessi in 1983 and built to evolve the same way the steel does. The 9090 brews three cups from a magnetic-base stainless steel body suitable for induction; the Nouvel cups come as a set of two with saucers and spoons. The espresso maker is limited to 999 pieces.
