Ansel Adams' The Grand Tetons

Captured by Ansel Adams in 1942, The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming has set a new record as the most expensive print of the photographer's work sold at auction. Purchased during Sotheby's recent Ansel Adams Masterworks auction, it beat the prior record of $722,500 set in 2010 by a print of Clearing Winter Storm, Yosemite National Park. The work itself is a massive mural-sized 38 7/8" by 51 7/8" and was most likely printed in the 1960s.
