Antikythera Island

Moving to a dreamy Greek island just got easier. As part of a repopulation project put on by the local Orthodox church, Antikythera is looking for new residents and they're willing to pay families $565 a month to become citizens. The remote island currently has a population of just 20 and is hoping to boost that number by offering those who relocate a house, a parcel of land for farming or business, and monthly subsidization. But the island itself is motivation enough. Just a ferry ride from Crete, the unadulterated Antikythera is surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea and is home to numerous archaeological sites as well as the Antikythera mechanism — the world's first analog computer.
