Areaware Match Striker
Created by industrial designer Josh Owen, this match striker from Areaware is a piece of functional art. The minimalist cast iron vessel neatly keeps a handful of wooden strike-anywhere matches on the tabletop or fireside. When you need a light, its textured surface ignites the flame, while the dish around the bottom provides a place for the match to rest until it's completely cooled. Any unwanted markings can simply be removed with a swipe of olive oil.
