Arthur Miller's 1961 Land Rover Series II
History is everything in the classic car world, and this 1961 Land Rover Series II has history in spades. A copy of the original invoice shows that Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Authur Miller bought this Land Rover directly from the factory in Solihull before titling the SUV in Connecticut. Specified as a left-drive 88-inch Basic model, this Land Rover saw duty at Miller's country estate in Roxbury, Connecticut — a place to get away from the bustle of New York City for Miller and his then-wife Marilyn Monroe. Owned by Miller for over 44 years, the Land Rover has remained in his family since his passing in 2005 and is in largely unrestored condition, to be auctioned by Bonhams at their Scottsdale, Arizona event in January.
