100 Days of Monsters

100 Days of Monsters

From the mind of designer and illustrator Stefan Bucher (proprietor of the wonderful DailyMonster.com) comes 100 Days of Monsters ($14). The book is the result of a series of videos, which he posted online, showing Bucher drawing a different ink-blot monster every day. Along with all the monsters, it also packs in a foreword from the always-awesome Ze Frank, over 250 monster stories, and a DVD with all 100 videos, 701 bonus comments and stories, and more.

  • Flight Attendants

If you've ever been on a commercial flight, you've no doubt seen the subjects of this amazing collection of photographs. Flight Attendants by Brian Finke ($23) shows these maids of the skies in and out of uniform, on the job, at school and at home, before, during, and after trips. Instead of glorifying the stereotypes surrounding the profession, Finke instead juxtaposes quiet shots of the attendant's daily lives with the busy, nerve-wracking nature of their jobs.

  • The Bacon Cookbook

Unless you stay away from the pork, you probably enjoy bacon in many forms: on burgers and salads, with breakfast, as the centerpiece of a fresh BLT. The Bacon Cookbook by James Villas ($23) will have you looking at the hog in a whole new light. Aside from descriptions of the different kinds of bacon, you also get tasty recipes for everything from French Cheese and Bacon souffle to Spanish Chicken, Bacon, Meatball, and Chickpea Stew. It's Bacon!!!
